WhistlerFjord operates a free social entertainment website at stainedpath.com. We are based in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Shield explains how we handle personal information collected through our website.

As a Canadian operator serving residents across Canada, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) at the federal level. For British Columbia residents, we additionally comply with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA BC). We do not operate under GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, or CCPA, which are European Union, United Kingdom, and California (US) frameworks respectively.

03. Information We Collect

WhistlerFjord collects the following categories of information:

• Technical data: IP address (anonymised), browser type, operating system, referring page, and pages visited. Collected automatically when you access our website.
• Session data: Age-gate confirmation status and cookie consent choice stored in your browser's localStorage. Never transmitted to our servers.
• Contact enquiries: Name and email address when you write to us voluntarily.

We do not collect financial data of any kind. WhistlerFjord has no payment processing and no monetary transactions.

04. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Operate and maintain the website in good working order.
• Respond to voluntary contact enquiries.
• Produce aggregate, anonymised analytics about site traffic patterns.
• Comply with legal obligations under PIPEDA and BC PIPA.

We do not use personal information for advertising targeting, profiling, or sale to third parties.

05. Cookies and Local Storage

Our site uses browser localStorage (not server-side cookies) for two purposes only:

• Storing your age-gate confirmation (so you are not asked repeatedly).
• Storing your cookie consent choice (accept or decline).

06. Data Retention

Technical access logs are retained for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted. Contact enquiry records are retained for up to 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, then deleted. LocalStorage data remains in your browser until you clear it or uninstall the browser.

07. Your Rights Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA

You have the right to:

• Access personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Withdraw consent to non-essential data uses at any time.
• Request deletion of your contact enquiry record.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca or with the BC Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner at oipc.bc.ca.
